On 05.06.2008 took place the annual Assembly of the Ethio United Taekwon Do Association. The President of EUTA, International Instructor Abdi Kedir, addressed the participant and guests the annual report and strategies. One of the topics that came up in the agenda was the supporting of other martial art, specifically Ju Jitsu. Mr. Abdi also a Board Vice President of the Ethiopian Ju Jitsu Association pointed out the importance of the Ju Jitsu in the development of the Ethiopian Martial Art. After a fruitful and constructive discussion the assembly decided to integrate Ju Jitsu in all 54 ITF clubs scattered across the country as a secondary course. EJJA was invited to attend the Assembly and represented by Mr. Adane Yeneneh, Board General Secretary.

Ju Jitsu technique demonstration for a large Audience

Annual graduation festival of Jeet Kune Do

The EJJA (Ju Jitsukas) have participated at the annual graduation festival of the Ethiopian Jeet Kune Do Association on 25th May 2008, and demonstrated several Ju Jitsu techniques. Meantime Ju Jitsu is practising in almost all Jeet Kune Do clubs as an optional Martial Art. The Ethiopian Jeet Kune Do Association awarded Dr. Tsegaye Degineh, Mr. Abdi Keder International Instructor and Mr Seyoum Bezabeh a Honor Black Belt for the development of Martial Arts in Ethiopia and thanks Mr. Adane Yeneneh for his special effort and cooperation. There was a large audience nearly 500 persons and a sport press in the hall.

Dear Ethiopian Ju Jitsu Associations and Sport friends,

I congratulate and thank you a lot for the great job you made for the Jiu-Jitsu's spreading in Ethiopia in particular and forthe JJAFU as well as the JJIF in general. It is an important contribution of the African Jiu-Jitsu, and this website represents a real consciousnesses and an example to follow by others African Jiu-Jitsu's Associations. Jiu Jitsu will have an important place in social economy landscape of Africa. Besides as being a Martial Art technique Jiu Jitsu is a way of peace, non-violence, resolving conflict and specially strengthening women and children ability of self defence and confidence. It is very difficult and a challenge to run a sport organisation in Africa; We face with a lot of daily problems such as, budget bottle necks, lack of equipment and information as well as weak infrastructure and network.
